Overview
Sharm El Sheikh is a popular destination for divers and eco-tourists. The waters of Ras Mohamed National Park are abundant with schools of fish and, oddly, toilets – thanks to a cargo ship that sank during a 1981 storm. Divers can also visit the Red Sea coral reef sites at Ras Mohamed which contain hundreds of coral reef species.
